Lara Brewer is a Partner and the Chief Financial Officer of Blue Ridge Consulting Group, LLC. Her particular area of expertise is private sector accounting and local government finance, including internal controls design, accounting systems analysis, drafting of budget and fiscal policies and audit preparation.
Raised in Williamsburg, Kentucky, she worked during high school and college for Williamsburg National Bank until graduation from college. She was recruited to Rollins, Inc. in Atlanta and later, PrintPack, Inc. as a corporate accountant. After her marriage in 1999, she left Atlanta and worked for Tricia Armistead, CPA and later, Jones Petroleum, Inc. as a corporate accountant in the convenience stores division.
In 2002, she went to work for the City of Jackson as Finance Director, overseeing all city accounting and financial matters. In 2006, she was appointed as City Clerk for Jackson, the city's highest appointed position. In this capacity she manages the operations of City Hall, the activities of the City Council and fiscal management for the City. She has completed the requirements for certification as a Level I and Level II Finance Officer, a two year course of study, resulting in certification as a Certified Government Finance Officer.
Lara Brewer and her husband Michael chartered BRCG to provide management consulting services for both public and private sectors. They reside in Jackson, Georgia and have one child.
